Pahang Skills Development Centre (Pahang Skills) was registered under the Societies Act 1966 on 17 June 1994 and began its active operations on 1 September 1996 at the Semambu Industrial Area, Kuantan, Pahang, on a 12-acre site. Pahang Skills is a skills-based training and education institution established through a tripartite collaboration between the State Government, the Federal Government, and key industries in the state.
Pahang Skills has a core function of providing skills training for industrial sector employees, graduates, and SPM school leavers.
Performance monitoring and overall governance of Pahang Skills are overseen by the Management Council, whose members comprise representatives from key industries in the State of Pahang, as well as representatives from the Pahang State Government serving as Ex Officio members.
Pahang Skills has obtained accreditation as a training centre from various authorities, including the Department of Skills Development (JPK), Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp), Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA Malaysia), Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Energy Commission (ST), Siemens Malaysia, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC).
Pahang Skills is also one (1) of the 15 Skills Development Centres under the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC) and serves as the Treasurer of the federation.
The main training programmes offered by Pahang Skills are categorised into three (3) areas: the SPM TVET Programme, Graduate Up-skilling Programme, and the Skilled Workforce Micro-Credential Programme.
As of 31 December 2025, Pahang Skills has trained a total of 66,553 participants comprising industrial sector employees, graduates, and SPM school leavers.
Pahang Skills also provides facility rental services such as halls, seminar rooms, computer laboratories, and iMac laboratories for events including weddings, graduation ceremonies, festive gatherings, examinations, seminars, training courses, and meetings. These facilities are available to government agencies, private sector organisations, statutory bodies, and the public at large.
In addition, Pahang Skills has been entrusted to serve as the Lead Consultant in the development of the Pahang Digital Plan 2021–2025 in collaboration with Pahang Go Sdn. Bhd. This five-year strategic plan aims to establish a comprehensive and interconnected digital ecosystem for the state of Pahang.
